Burnt Alibi

One quart covers approximately 50–75 square feet for two coats. One gallon covers approximately 200–300 square feet for two coats.

Actual coverage depends on surface porosity and texture. Rough or highly absorbent surfaces may require more material, and an optional third coat will increase consumption.

Measure the total area you plan to finish and use the lower end of the coverage range when planning for textured or porous surfaces.

Surfaces must be clean, dry, sound, and free of loose or flaking material, dirt, mildew, grease, chalk, and efflorescence.

Naturally porous, unsealed, and unpainted brick, masonry, stucco, and cement can receive MobWash directly without primer once properly prepared.

Exterior cement-based surfaces should cure for at least 21 days before application.


DRYWALL & PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES

New drywall must first be properly prepared and primed with a suitable PVA primer, followed by MobWash Mineral Primer before applying MobWash.

Previously painted surfaces should be clean, dry, and sound before receiving MobWash Mineral Primer. Glossy surfaces must first be sanded, cleaned, and primed with an appropriate multipurpose primer, followed by MobWash Mineral Primer.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN 

Check the color before application. Stir MobWash thoroughly before and during use. Apply between 55°F and 85°F. Avoid excessive heat, direct sunlight, rain, or cold weather during application and curing.


FIRST COAT

Apply with a Meoded Lime Wash Brush, using loose cross-hatch or multidirectional strokes. Maintain a wet edge as you work across the surface. Allow at least 8 hours to dry.


SECOND COAT

Apply the second coat using the same technique to build depth and tonal variation. A third coat may be applied if a more uniform appearance is desired.

MobWash appears darker while wet and lightens as it dries. Allow the color to develop before judging the finished appearance.

On properly prepared porous exterior surfaces such as brick, stucco, masonry, or cement, apply MobWash directly without dilution, using a cross-hatch or multidirectional brush technique.

SECOND COAT

Once the first coat is dry, lightly dampen the surface with clean water. It should appear slightly darker, but should not be wet. Apply the second coat using the same cross-hatch or multidirectional technique.

GIVE IT TIME TO DEVELOP

For interior applications, allow at least 8 hours between coats.

For exterior applications, allow a minimum of 7 days before exposure to rain or extreme cold. Plan your application around a suitable weather window.

MobWash is designed to show natural shifts in tone and visible brush movement. Your surface, application technique, and lighting all influence the result.

Review a physical color sample and test the finish on your prepared surface before beginning the full application.

Does it need to be sealed?

No, MobWash does not need to be sealed. Lime Wash is a decorative finish and is not intended to be washable. Because of its thin application, sealers offer limited protection.
